Hejian

Hejian ( Chinese  河 間 市  /  河 间 市 , Pinyin Héjiān Shì ) is an independent city in Hebei Province in China . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Cangzhou . At the end of 2004 the city had about 770,000 inhabitants on an area of ​​1,333 km².

Administrative structure

The city of Hejian consists of seven large parishes, twelve parishes and one nationality parish.

History

Hejian or "Ho kien Fu" was the seat of the Catholic mission of the Jesuits, which also included the French missionaries Séraphin Couvreur and Léon Wieger .
