Musical development

The band released their first studio album, Weichen und Zunder , under the name Völkerball , as it was released before the band split. Participants were Anlauff, Kaiser, Vetter, Carbow, Oechsle and Schanowski. Musically and stylistically, the album is based on the Rammstein albums Herzeleid und Sehnsucht . The staccato guitars, the electronic parts and the distinctive vocals of Anlauff are very reminiscent of Rammstein . Rocktimes.de speaks of a "homage" to the band Rammstein part dodgeball and reports to the album "Intelligent [r] and beautiful [e] ambiguous [r] value [e]", but also recognizes that the album "is not the Hitdichte of 'normal' Rammstein albums ”.

In 2014, Propaganda released the band's second studio album. Anlauff, Kaiser, Vetter and Ochsle worked again on the album, Carbow was replaced by Marco Schulte, Schanwoski only worked on a few songs. Except for the title song, all songs are in German. The main focus of the album is in the New German Hardness Style, but the lyrics are more “brutal” compared to the debut album and Heldmaschine remains “clear and direct in their statements”. Compared to the debut, the keyboard is much more important and is sometimes the dominant instrument. So there is in Weiter! and Kreuzzug are much more extreme and longer keyboard parts. The band also increasingly relies on melodic refrains.

A year later the third studio album appeared with Lügen . In addition to the well-known ensemble (Anlauff, Kaiser, Schulte and Ochsle), Stankovic inherited Marco Vetter as a guitarist. Once again you can hear that the keyboard is an important part of the instrumentation and that it can be musically classified in the electro scene. The songs are dominated by “intrusive, funky-spacey synths”, which “pair with jagged industrial riffs, but determine the sound of the work.” The lower tempo of the songs compared to their predecessors is also striking. It was also criticized that the album featured guest artists in seven out of 12 songs. The lyrics were also criticized, some of which are “nonsense” or “which just don't make sense” and that the band cannot find a line in which a musical classification is possible.

In November 2016, the band's fourth studio album, Himmelskörper, was released. This time there was no change in the band members compared to the previous album. As with lies , the electro components are again very strongly represented and form the basic structure of the musical structure of the songs. In general, however, an improvement on the previous album is attested to the album.
