Helen Ferguson

Helen Ferguson (born July 23, 1900 - other sources: 1901 - in Decatur , Illinois , † March 14, 1977 in Clearwater , Florida ) was an American actress of the silent and early talkies era . She later became a well-known publicist and press agent.

Life

Helen Ferguson probably began her career as a contract actress with Essany Pictures as early as 1913. However, appearances are only confirmed for the year 1917. In 1920 she switched to Fox Film Corporation , where she quickly rose to become a well-known actress. In 1922, Helen Ferguson was one of the first actresses to be voted one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars .

However, her further development came to a standstill and in 1933 she withdrew completely from acting to start a second career as a publicist and press agent. Within a few years she could already count among her clients such well-known names as Henry Fonda , Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor . She was also friends with her client Loretta Young for decades.

Helen Ferguson has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6153 Hollywood Boulevard.
