Helen Nielsen

Helen Nielsen (born October 23, 1918 in Roseville , Illinois , † June 22, 2002 in Prescott , Arizona ) was an American journalist and writer.

Life

Nielsen grew up on his parents' farm near Roseville. She later went to Chicago and spent all of her school years there. She studied journalism, art and technical drawing at the University of Chicago , and later moved to the Art Institute of Chicago .

At the beginning of the Second World War , Nielsen worked as a technical draftsman in the aircraft industry; Among other things, she worked there on the development of the Convair B-36 and Lockheed P-80 aircraft . In 1942 Nielsen went to California . For many years she worked for the " Hollywood Dream Factory " and lived in Laguna Beach and Oceanside .

Nielsen spent the last years of her life in Prescott, Arizona. She died there on June 22nd, 2002 at the age of 83 and was last resting there.

In Southern California, where she lived and worked for most of her life, she also set the events of most of her crime novels . In addition to film scripts / screenplays, her oeuvre includes many short stories and around twenty crime novels. She always published the latter under her own name, otherwise she often used the pseudonym Kris Giles.
