Helena Martins Belo (born January 20, 1960 in Quelicai , Baucau , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . She is a member of the FRETILIN party .

Career

Belo holds a bachelor's degree in education. Before entering the national parliament , she was director of the Escola Técnico Vocacional Pública Baucau .

Belo ran for FRETILIN several times in parliamentary elections. In 2007 in 52nd place, in 2012 as a substitute candidate in 92nd place and in 2017 in 45th place. In the early elections on May 12, 2018 , Belo made it into the national parliament in 13th place. She is a member of the parliamentary commission for education, health and social security and gender equality (Commission F).
