Ursula Rößler-Koehler

Ursula Rößler-Köhler (born August 3, 1947 as Ursula Köhler ; † March 11, 2019 ) was a German Egyptologist .

Life

Ursula Rößler-Köhler grew up in Kassel and studied at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . After graduating as Dr. phil. in Göttingen 1973 and her habilitation , also in Göttingen 1988, she was appointed professor of Egyptology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 1991.

She was the editor of the manuscripts for the Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead (HAT) and the Studies on the Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead (SAT) and built the Egyptian Museum in Bonn , which opened in 2001 . She was particularly committed to the excavation project in Ma'abda in central Egypt.
