Helene Knorr

Helene Knorr (born June 2, 1920 in Weißenfels an der Saale; † June 1, 2010 in Bremen ) was a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

education and profession

Knorr grew up in Saxony-Anhalt . She moved to Bremen in 1948. She worked as an employee and works councilor at Martin Brinkmann AG in Bremen.

She spent the last years of her life in the nursing home Haus am Osterdeich of the Arbeiter Samariter Bund (ASB).

politics

Knorr was a member of the SPD from June 1945 until the SPD / KPD merged to form the SED (1946). She then took part in the illegal activities of the East Office of the SPD , which was persecuted by the Soviet occupation zone and the SED. She therefore fled in 1948. Among other things, she was chairwoman and member of the board of the
SPD local association in Kirchhuchting . Before 1971 she was active on the Huchting Advisory Board .

From 1971 to 1987 she was a member of the Bremen citizenship for 16 years . From 1979 she was a member of the board of the citizenship. From 1983 to 1987 she was Vice President of the Citizenship; the first woman in this office. In parliament she was represented in the Deputation for Ports, Shipping and Transport and in the Petitions Committee.

Further memberships

Knorr was a long-time member of the food-pleasure-restaurants union (NGG), has been on the board of the Bremen Group since 1967 and has been involved at federal level for many years.
She was also u. a. Member of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO).
