Helene Voigt

Helene Louise Julie Voigt , b. von Ziegler and Klipphausen , (born August 21, 1857 in Bischdorf , † March 11, 1924 in Görlitz ) was a German novelist and children's book author .

Life

She was the daughter of the royal Prussian chief forester Georg von Ziegler and Klipphausen (1824–1879) and Louise, b. Countess von Pückler-Limpurg (1831–1901). At the time of her birth, her father was the chief forester in the Upper Silesian Bischdorf near Rosenberg . She grew up in Görlitz and married the royal Prussian Rittmeister Paul Voigt there in 1892 . In the following years she lived in the East Prussian Tapiau , where her husband was the director of the East Prussian Provincial Reformatory and Poor People's Institute . After his death in 1923 she moved back to Görlitz, where her widowed sister Viktoria Tschoertner (1859–1943) also lived.

Before and during the first few years of their marriage, Helene von Ziegler and Klipphausen wrote various stories for children. In addition to her maiden name Helene von Ziegler, she also used the pseudonyms Hella and Francesca von Limpurg , alluding to her mother's maiden name. In 1889 her novel Durch Surfung und Klippen was published in Berlin .
