Helga Thiede

Helga Thiede (born February 6, 1940 in Berlin ) is a German opera singer (soprano).

Life

Growing up in Schöneiche near Berlin , she studied singing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin after completing her professional training . After her first engagement at the studio of the German State Opera in Berlin, she moved to the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin in 1967, to the State Theater of Dessau in 1974 and to the Dresden Semperoper in 1984 . Guest performances have taken her to Basel, Nancy, Montpellier and Bordeaux, to the Bavarian State Opera and the Berlin State Opera , to Cologne and as Ariadne to the Stuttgart State Opera . She worked with conductors like Semjon Bytschkow , Sir Colin Davis , Marek Janowski , Ingo Metzmacher , Wolfgang Rennert and Hiroshi Wakasugi in productions by Ruth Berghaus , Willy Decker , Joachim Herz , Harry Kupfer , Christine Mielitz and Wolfgang Wagner . Her most important roles include a. the title role in ' Fidelio ', Leonora in ' La forza del destino ', Elisabetta in ' Don Carlos ', Desdemona, Amelia and Leonora in ' Il trovatore ', the Wagner roles Senta, Venus, Elisabeth, Ortrud and Eva, Strauss -Parts Salome, Chrysothemis, Marschallin, Arabella and Ariadne as well as the title roles Aida, Manon Lescaut, Tosca and Jenufa.
