Helga Ziegert

Helga Ziegert (born November 21, 1945 in Göttingen ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ); she was regional chairwoman of the German Trade Union Federation (DGB) and member of the Bremen citizenship .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Berlin, Ziegert studied law as well as German and history at the University of Freiburg and the Free University of Berlin . In Berlin she passed the first state examination. This was followed by the legal clerkship and later the school service in Bremen at the school center Huchting and at the comprehensive school West in Bremen - Osterholz.

From 1981 to 1987 Ziegert was state chairman of the GEW (Union for Education and Science). From 1990 to 1992 she worked in Rostock to support the establishment of the local teacher staff council. In 1993 she became chairwoman of the DGB district in Bremen. From 2001 to 2009 she was chairwoman of the DGB region Bremen-Bremerhaven.

MPs

From 1999 to 2011 she was a member of the Bremen citizenship. She was the labor market policy spokeswoman for the SPD in Bremen. She was represented in the committees for hospitals, for information and communication technology and media affairs and for equality for women as well as in the deputation for work and health.
