Helge Thomsen
Helge Thomsen (born July 9, 1967 in Schleswig ) is a German journalist , communications designer , columnist , author and television presenter with a focus on automobiles .
biography
Thomsen grew up in Eckernförde , where he left the Jungmann Gymnasium with a technical college entrance qualification. After completing his military service, he studied mechanical engineering in Flensburg. After completing his basic studies, he moved to Hamburg, where he successfully completed a degree in communication design . During his studies he founded his first advertising agency, which specialized in corporate design . At the same time, he ran his own car repair shop in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg , where he restored oldtimers and youngtimers and realized one- offs for various customers.
In 1999 Thomsen and two friends founded Motoraver Verlag, which has since published the print magazine of the same name on the subject of drivestyle and oldtimers. There he is the editor-in-chief and develops the corporate design.
The TV show “Die Autoschraub” on RTL II arose from his own concept in 2004 , in which Thomsen appeared as a designer and presenter in his Wilhelmsburg workshop.
From 2007 to 2019 Thomsen stood in front of the camera with Detlef Müller and Matthias Malmedie for Grip - Das Motormagazin . There he was responsible for unusual driving tests, classic cars and stunts.
Since 2018, Thomsen has been launching its own non-alcoholic craft beer Helges Fahrbier to match the car theme . Since 2019 he has been hosting his own program Youngtimer Duell on DMAX together with Jens Seltrecht .
