Andoany is a city in Madagascar . The old name of the city, which is still common today, was Hell-Ville or Hellville , named after the French admiral Anne Chrétien Louis de Hell .
It is the capital of the island of Nosy Be . It is located near the Kalmengürtel and is accordingly low in wind. At its center is a large diesel generator that occasionally supplies the island with electricity.
According to some sources, the population is 30,000, out of a total population of the island of 60,000.
