Hell is a British heavy metal band from Nottingham formed in 1982 .

history

Hell at the Rockharz 2015 in Ballenstedt .
David Bower at the Rockharz 2015 in Ballenstedt.

In 1982, the year it was founded, the band recorded three demos. 1983 followed their first EP Save Us From Those Who Would Save Us , which they financed themselves and released on their own label Deadly Weapon.

Another demo recording followed in 1986, after which a contract for their first album with Mausoleum should be signed. This burst, however, because they went bankrupt. In 1987 the guitarist and singer Dave Halliday committed suicide . Thereupon the remaining band members decided to break up the band.

Andy Sneap learned to play guitar as a teenager through Halliday. Sneap gained notoriety through his work with Sabbat as well as through the production of various albums. At a meeting with the founding members of Hell, they asked Sneap if he would like to re-record old material with them. In 2010 the new singer David Bower joined the band.

This is how the debut album Human Remains, produced by Andy Sneap and released via Nuclear Blast , came about in 2011 . It received mostly good to very good reviews and entered the German charts at number 46.
