The Helland-Hansenbotnen is an icy Kar in East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . The mountain basin lies between the mountain ridges Berggravrista and Gramkroken in northern Sivorgfjella .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named him in 1967 after Bjørn Krag Helland-Hansen (* 1903), son of the Norwegian oceanographer Bjørn Helland-Hansen and resistance fighter against the German occupation of Norway in World War II .
