Hellmuth Henneberg (born December 10, 1958 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and television presenter at rbb (Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg).

Life

Hellmuth Henneberg is a son of the actor Gerd Michael Henneberg (1922–2011) and the actress and TV announcer Maria Kühne (* 1927). He grew up in Rostock and studied from 1980 to 1984 at the Journalism Section in Leipzig . During this time he was a member of the Poetic Theater Louis Fürnberg . He then worked as an editor of youth programs for television in the GDR . With the political change in the GDR , Henneberg's career began as a television presenter at ELF99 ( Talk with Open End , samsTALK ) and at the environmental magazine OZON . When the ORB (Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg) was created in 1992 with the reorganization of broadcasting in the new federal states, he became editor-in-chief for political discussion programs there. Since then he has been in charge of the interview series On the Person by and with Günter Gaus (until his death in 2004). After quarrels about the direction of new broadcast formats, for which Henneberg was not willing to share responsibility, he was ordered to Cottbus to lead the development of the television area in the ORB studio there. He has been editor-in-chief there since 1999, and since then he has headed "Łužyca", the only Lower Sorbian-language television magazine. He moderated the environmental magazine “OZON” from April 1990 to October 2015. Henneberg presented various other formats on ORB and rbb television, and he achieved particular popularity as a television gardener in the rbb series GARTENZEIT (2005–2015).

He presented his first book in 2002 with Mutiny in front of Rügen , recognized by ZEIT as a meticulously researched memory report and Kafkaeske's didactic piece about the individual in the grinder of the dictatorship . For the first time, the show trial against the Junge Gemeinde from August 1961 was presented in a coherent manner, about the occurrence and course of which numerous incorrect versions were in circulation up until then. In his first gardening books, Henneberg proves to be an ironic observer of his “television gardening activity”. The gardener's hour (2019) is a collection of cheerful short stories.

Hellmuth Henneberg appears in musical-literary programs together with trombonist Karsten Noack. He has also made a name for himself as the moderator of numerous public discussion events, especially in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Henneberg is civically active in a variety of ways. He has been supporting the "Stiftung Naturschutz Berlin" since 1995 and acts as a patron of actions by the Naturschutzjugend (NaJu) Brandenburg. Henneberg is married and lives in Sellessen, a village in Lower Lusatia that is incorporated into Spremberg.

He has three children.
