Life

Luvs parents fled after the Second Gulf War in Turkey , from where they continue to Finland emigrated. Luv discovered her love for music and theater at an early age and won various prizes for her dance skills. When she was 18, she decided to move to California to pursue her dream as a singer. Because of numerous uploaded videos on Myspace , she was discovered by producer Carlos McKinney . She got a contract with the G2 Music Group .

In 2014 she starred in the movie Mardan directed by Batin Ghobadi and & Bahman Ghobadi .

Risk it All (video)

Risk it all is a single from their first album. The accompanying music video was shot in the capital of the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan , Erbil , mainly around the citadel of Erbil . The video made big headlines due to Luv's revealing clothing style and eccentric trademarks. Some Islamist groups even threatened her with death; others accused her of supporting the Illuminati .

Revolution (video)

Helly Luv's second music video Revolution was shot only a few kilometers from an IS base . It was a symbol in the fight against ISIS, which attracted their attention. In the course of the video, she also appears in uniform and in a fighting pose and stops a tank. Several (national) flags were used in the video and through repetitions such as “Together we can survive it” or “we are united”, the video once again shows that solidarity among peoples can defeat IS.

While the IS occupied a village at the beginning of the video, it ends with a recording that appears to be not intended for the video. The protagonist shares behind the scenes that it was filmed three miles behind the front line before being shot by a sniper in front of the camera.
