Helma Fries

Helma Fries (* 1945 , as Gerhard Fries ) is a German actress and author .

Life

Helma Fries plays both female and male roles, and she also appears in films under her maiden name Gerhard Fries . Since 2002 it has officially been called Helma Fries .

Fries studied theology, philosophy and art with Hans-Georg Geyer , Hans Wagner and Joseph Beuys . After the state examination followed an acting training with Dominic de Fazio. She then had acting engagements at the Freie Theater Oberhausen , at the Theatermanufaktur Berlin (here, for example, under Otto Zonschitz ) and at the Kassel State Theater .

Fries has been with the Berliner Compagnie since 1981 , of which she is also a co-founder. Here she played in all productions, is artistic director together with Elke Schuster and is also responsible for the piece texts and the print graphics. In 2009 the Berlin company received the national Aachen Peace Prize .

Fries can also be seen in film productions. She had a continuous role as the orderly caretaker of the Bundestag in the children's series Politibongo , in which extraterrestrials end up in the Bundestag.
