Politibongo is a German children's series that was created between 2002 and 2004. The aim is to familiarize the children with the tasks of the German Bundestag and the principles of democracy and politics .

action

King Shludo was ousted from power on the planet Bongo. Now the residents of Bongo are looking for a new system of government. For this, the experienced Captain Mosch and his crew members Lomo and Siri were sent to Earth to get ideas for the new system of government.

They are stranded at the German Bundestag , where the camerawoman Nine tells them about the parliamentary democracy that is practiced in the Bundestag. Mosch, Lomo and Siri are enthusiastic and parliamentary democracy is introduced on Bongo a little later. Problems also arise, however, so Mosch and his crew keep coming back to Nine (replaced by cameraman Mara from episode 6). However, the problems can be resolved through Nine's or Mara's advice.

There is always a framework around these “lessons”: Mosch and his crew have to remain undetected, Mara and Nine help, but the caretaker and “cellar king of the Bundestag” Kalli Bierkant is always on their heels. In episode 9, he can capture Mosch, but both become friends and Kalli becomes a supporter of the aliens.

In episode 10, the arrival of Mosch and his crew is expected, the then President of the Bundestag Wolfgang Thierse greets them. The sneaky security guard Maschmeyer learns about the aliens and wants to sell them to the “ UFO Pope” Högendorf for millions, but is tricked. At the end of the series, Bongo receives a message on top of the Alexander Tower . Their keys will be presented by Berlin's then governing mayor , Klaus Wowereit .
