Helmbert OPraem († November 26, 1206 ) was Bishop of Havelberg from 1191 to 1206 .

Life

Helmbert is documented as provost of the cathedral in Havelberg in 1186 , and in 1191 he became bishop of Havelberg. His work took place less in his own diocese, but mainly in the service of the Archbishop of Mainz Konrad von Wittelsbach , in whose company he took part in the 1196 Reichstag in Würzburg . During Konrad's participation in the crusade in 1197/8, Helmbert represented him in spiritual matters in the archbishopric. The lifting of the ban against Landgrave Hermann von Thuringia by Helmbert was disapproved by Archbishop Konrad. Helmbert was present at the episcopal ordination of Konrad's successor Siegfried II von Eppstein . During his term of office, Helmfried performed auxiliary bishop activities mainly in the Thuringian-Saxon part of the Archdiocese, in 1206 also in the Diocese of Würzburg . Helmfried died on November 26, 1206.
