Felix Escher

Felix Escher (born March 8, 1945 in Berlin ) is a German historian .

Life

In 1965, Escher began studying history and geography at the Free University of Berlin and graduated in 1973 with the first state examination. From 1974 to 1979 he was employed as a research assistant at the chair for historical regional studies at the Free University of Berlin and from 1974/75 he was a member of a working group focusing on the research project “ Cistercians ” (from 1980 “Comparative Order Research”) at the Friedrich Meinecke Institute . In 1979, Escher received his doctorate from Heinz Quirin and worked in the interdisciplinary working group Germania Slavica at the Free University of Berlin.

From 1986 to 1996 Escher was a research assistant at the Historical Commission in Berlin and then a member of DFG projects. In addition, from 1992 to 2006 he was chairman of the State History Association for the Mark Brandenburg eV Between 1999 and 2000 he also worked as a research assistant at the Jewish Museum Berlin . Since 1999 he has been a lecturer at the TU Berlin , where he has been an adjunct professor for medieval history since the 2006/2007 winter semester . Since 2002 he and Eckart Henning have been the publisher and secretary of the Yearbook for Brandenburg State History . Since 2006 he has also been a member of the Historical Commission of Berlin and the Brandenburg Historical Commission .
