Helmut Bachmann (born December 13, 1944 in Telfes ) is an Austrian school director and politician ( SPÖ ). From 1999 to 2008 he was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

Helmut Bachmann attended the Kufstein elementary school between 1951 and 1955 and then moved to the local federal high school, where he graduated in 1964. Bachmann began studying at the University of Innsbruck in 1965 , which he completed in 1971. He then worked as a professor at BORG in Schwaz until 1983 and was director of HBLA Kematen from 1983 to 2009 . Between 1994 and 1995 he was also the EU Commissioner for Mostar / Bosnia (EUAM) from 1994 to 1995.

Bachmann was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament from March 30, 1999, where he was elected to the state parliament in 1999 and 2003 through the Innsbruck-Land district nomination. From 1999 he was a member of the Committee on Federalism and European Integration, of which he was chairman from that point in time. From 1999 he was also a member of the Committee for Agriculture, Forestry and Environment or Agriculture and Forestry, Transport and Environment, and between 1999 and 2003 he was a member of the Committee for Art, Culture, School and Sport. Bachmann resigned from the state parliament on July 1, 2008 in the course of the state elections in Tyrol in 2008 .
