Helmut Bonney

Helmut Bonney (* 1947 ) is a German psychiatrist and psychotherapist . It specializes in children and teenagers. He founded and heads the Heidelberg Systemic Seminar .

Life stations

After studying in Cologne and Hamburg , Bonney trained as a pediatrician in Detmold and Mainz and trained as a psychotherapist with Gerd Biermann based on the Brühl model . At the Children's Neurological Center in Mainz he became familiar with the strategic family therapy according to Salvador Minuchin , at the International Society for Systemic Therapy he studied the Milan model , which at that time was still taught there personally by Gianfranco Cecchin and Luigi Boscolo . From 1985 he was involved in the development of a systemically designed child psychiatry in Detmold, where he also founded a social psychiatric practice, which was transferred to other hands in 1997. He then returned to Heidelberg and has since concentrated on systemic practice and teaching.

Helmut Bonney is the father of five children. Today he lives in Heidelberg with his wife Juliane Bonney and their child.
