Helmut Braß
Helmut Braß (born February 22, 1936 in Hanover ; † October 10, 2011 in Braunschweig ) was a German mathematician and university professor who dealt with numerical mathematics (especially numerical integration and approximation ).
Helmut Braß studied mathematics and chemistry at the Technical University of Hanover , today Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover, where he took his diploma in mathematics in 1962 and then became a scientific assistant. In 1965 he received his doctorate under Wilhelm Quade and completed his habilitation in mathematics in 1968. In 1970 he was appointed university professor at Clausthal University of Technology . In 1974 he accepted a chair at the University of Osnabrück . In 1977 he accepted another chair at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he retired in 2002. Helmut Braß published two books and two conference proceedings on numerical integration. His scientific work includes more than 50 scientific publications in international journals.
