Helmut Haas (politician)

Helmut Haas (born February 16, 1950 ) is an Austrian construction technician and politician ( FPK , formerly FPÖ or BZÖ ). From 2004 to 2013 he was a member of the Carinthian state parliament .

education and profession

After completing elementary and secondary school, Haas attended a technical college for building construction. In 1973 he was given the professional title of "engineer". Haas works at Porr's Carinthia branch and was elected employee works council chairman in 1974.

politics

Haas was a local councilor in Wernberg between 1973 and 1985 , where he ran on an independent list. In 1986 Haas joined the FPÖ and was elected to the Kirchbach municipal council in 1991 . Between 1991 and 1997 Haas was also a member of the community council. Within the party, Haas was deputy FPÖ district party leader for the Hermagor district between 1989 and 2001 and was elected district party leader in 2001. On March 31, 2004, Haas was sworn in as a representative of the FPÖ as a member of the Carinthian state parliament, he was a member of the BZÖ from 2005 to 2009 in the course of the split in the party like almost all Carinthian state parliament members and had been at the federal level since the cooperation with the FPÖ since 16 December 2009, like the remaining 16 mandataries, Member of the Freedom Party in Carinthia (until 2013). Haas identified the subjects of economy, youth and sport as his political priorities. Haas is the transport and infrastructure spokesman for the Freedom State Parliament Club.

Haas has been chairman of the Hermagor school community association since 2005 and was a board member of the Carnic Region waste water association from 1994 to 2003. In 2003 he took on the role of deputy chairman.

Private

Haas is married and has a son and a daughter. He lives in Kirchbach im Gailtal and is a member of the volunteer fire brigade and a functionary of the "Kirchbach Sports Club".
