Helmut Hilpert (pianist)

Helmut Hilpert (born June 8, 1923 in Reichenau im Mühlkreis , † November 25, 1942 in Stalingrad ) was an Austrian pianist and composer .

Life

The son of the senior teacher Max Hilpert attended the secondary school in Linz from 1934 to 1941 and the Petri School in Leipzig in 1941/1942. In 1942 the school-leaving examination took place. Hilpert studied piano with Karl Steiner (Linz), W. Bohle, Felix Petyrek (Leipzig), Karl Leimer (Hanover), E. Fischer (Potsdam), theory with H. Haböck, I. Stögbauer (Linz) and Johann Nepomuk David (Leipzig). Hilpert, who was awarded the Upper Danube Art Prize post mortem in 1943, achieved significant achievements as a pianist (concert tours abroad), composer and painter despite his youth.
