Helmut Kortmann

Helmut Kortmann (born July 9, 1947 ) is a German medic . He was a professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.

Career

Kortmann studied human medicine at the Universities of Freiburg and Munich . Immediately after taking the state examination , he received his doctorate. med. at the Institute for Clinical Chemistry at the University of Munich. He received his training as a surgeon and vascular surgeon in the surgical clinic of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. In 1987 he was appointed university professor for life at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. From 1988 to 2017 he was the head physician in the department for thoracic and vascular surgery at the General Hospital Hamburg-Altona (taken over by the Asklepios Group Hamburg in 2005).
