The Asklepios Klinik Altona (until 2005 General Hospital Altona ) is a teaching hospital of the University of Hamburg in the Altona district . It is part of the 74.9% privatized Landesbetrieb Krankenhäuser (LBK). In 1971 the building replaced the old Altona hospital in Max-Brauer-Allee (Allee 164). Privately run since 2005, the house today has 1,550 employees.

building

The building at Paul-Ehrlich-Strasse 1 in Othmarschen, erected between 1961 and 1970, was designed by Kallmorgen & Partner , who took part in the 1958 competition. It was planned for 1,078 beds in 31 wards. In order to save costs, the now listed bed house was built as an upright, 120-meter-long, 14-meter-wide and 23-storey pane on a federally funded nuclear shelter . In the meantime, a new building is planned next to this old building

In 1996 the new center for perinatal medicine was completed. In the following year, the intervention center with an expanded treatment and diagnostic wing for endoscopic interventions, a sterilization wing and the new operative intensive care unit went into operation.

In 2005 the Asklepios Group took over the house. The multi-storey car park was built in 2007 and the new central emergency room in 2009 .

organization

The Asklepios Klinik Altona houses a wide range of medical departments under one roof. It belongs to the meanwhile partially privatized State Hospital Hamburg, which is 74.9% owned by the hospital company Asklepios Kliniken and now operates under the name Asklepios Kliniken Hamburg .

In-house, interdisciplinary collaboration in the diagnosis and therapy of tumor diseases, the so-called tumor board, is very important. To this end, joint conferences are held several times a week by specialists from various fields related to tumor diseases. In this context, the disease progression and treatment therapies of relevant patients are discussed.
