Helmut Kruhl

Helmut Kruhl (born April 29, 1928 in Wilhelmshaven ; † September 9, 2011 there ) was a German football player .

Career

The versatile left winger moved from TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven to Hannover 96 in the summer of 1953 . The team trained by Helmut Kronsbein (1914-1991) took first place in the Oberliga Nord at the end of the season , which allowed them to participate in the German championship . To date, Kruhl had played 17 games this season in which he scored 5 goals. In the final round of the German championship, he was used both in the first round game against Berliner SV 92 (2: 1) and in the second game against VfB Stuttgart (3: 1). To the 5: 1 final victory against the defending champion 1. FC Kaiserslautern Kruhl contributed the interim 4: 1 with a header from eight meters in the 80th minute.

In the summer of 1954, after only one season, Kruhl left the capital of Lower Saxony and returned to his hometown club TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven. In 1958 he was used for the club in the amateur league .

At the end of September 2011 Hannover 96 announced the death of Kruhl; he had died a few weeks earlier at the age of 83.
