Helmut Lindner (born October 4, 1927 in Iserlohn ; † November 17, 2002 ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school , he completed a commercial apprenticeship . After military service and imprisonment, he worked for various employers in the commercial sector. Most recently, Lindner was employed by the CDU district association Märkischer Kreis .

He became a member of the CDU in 1956. He worked on numerous CDU committees. He had been a member of IG Metall since 1955.

From May 30, 1985 to May 30, 1990, Lindner was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected from his party's national list.

From 1956 he was a member of the city ​​council of Iserlohn, from 1975 to 1979 he was mayor and then until 1984 mayor of the city, which, due to the loss of district freedom in 1975, has had no mayor since 1979, but only a mayor as mayor. He was a member of the district council of the Märkisches Kreis from 1975 to 1985.
