Helmut Meinhardt

Helmut Meinhardt (born December 15, 1933 in Dingelstädt ; † May 22, 2018 ) was a German philosopher .

Life

He studied philosophy, Catholic theology and Greek philology in Fulda and Munster , where he in 1963 with a thesis on participation in Plato doctorate was. He followed the philosopher Ludger Oeing-Hanhoff to Giessen , where he worked as a research assistant from 1967 . One year after his habilitation in epistemology by Nikolaus von Kues in 1971, he was appointed professor . From 1972 to 1999 he taught as a professor of philosophy at the University of Giessen .
