Helmut Rieth

Helmut Rieth (born June 10, 1954 in Blankenhain ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former Thuringian member of the state parliament .

Life

Helmut Rieth is married and has two children. After graduating from high school, he began studying at the FSU Jena , which he finished in 1979. He then worked as a teacher in Gotha for five years . In 1984 he moved to Berlin. He gave up this position and returned to Gotha in 1986, where he worked as a technical college teacher for German language and literature at the pedagogical school for kindergarten teachers . After his release in 1989, he taught at a vocational school .

From 1990 Rieth belonged to the Gotha district council and held the position of an alderman. He was chairman of the SPD city association Gotha. During the first electoral term of the Thuringian state parliament (1990 to 1994) he was a member of the Interior and Education Committee and in the second electoral period (1994 to 1999) of the Interior Committee. He was also a member of the state board of trustees for political education. Helmut Rieth held the position of deputy state chairman of the SGK Thuringia and was the local political spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

2004–2008 he was a non-party and non-attached member of the Gotha City Council.
