Helmut Rond

Helmut Rond (born June 11, 1942 - † November 26, 2013 ), better known as Der Löwe or DJ Löwe , was a German disc jockey , musician and singer.

Life

In the 1960s, Rond was a DJ in the Hamburg Star Club . Later he put on in the Jaguar Club in Herford and in the Astoria in Hamm . In the 1970s he ran Omis schnapps house in Kamen . Gunter Gabriel , with whom Rond is friends, was often a guest there.

Rond played even by beat and rock 'n' roll influenced music in the 1960s with the band The Strangers , later with the tramps and as Leo & Co . One of his better-known songs is Mein Weib, which always puts on black underwear , a cover of Lonnie Donegan's skiffle hit Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor on the Bed Post over Night , the single by Löwe & Co was released in 1976 in the Hamburg scene on the Hansa label. In 2008 the song was re-released on the Sony / BMG compilation Zeitgeist 1975–79 ; Löw & Co were incorrectly named as the interpreters .

Rond worked as a tennis instructor in Hamm for twenty years. In 2008 he and Uli Haider produced his song Today you don't get any cuts . In 2009 the “lion” celebrated a comeback with a live band.
