Helmut Schlueter

Helmut Schlueter (born July 25, 1925 in Fallingbostel , † April 7, 1967 in Soltau ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Schlüter completed a craft apprenticeship. From 1943 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the French, from which he was released in 1948. He then worked as a mechanical engineer at Wolff & Co. in Bomlitz , passed the master craftsman's examination in 1951 and was chairman of the works council there from 1951 to 1965. From 1954 to 1956 he continued his education at the Academy for Economics and Politics in Hamburg . In addition, since 1958 he was an honorary member of the main board of the Chemical, Paper and Ceramics trade union .

Political party

Schlüter joined the SPD, was chairman of the SPD sub-district Soltau-Fallingbostel from 1957 to 1962 and was elected chairman of the SPD local branch in Bomlitz in 1963.

MP

Schlüter was a council member of the Bomlitz community and a district council member of the Fallingbostel district since 1952 . He moved into the German Bundestag on September 11, 1964 as a replacement for the late MP Kurt Schröder . He was re-elected in October 1965 via the Lower Saxony state list and was a member of the Bundestag until his death.

Public offices

Schlüter has been deputy district administrator for the Fallingbostel district since 1961.
