Helmut Sinor

Helmut Sinor (born December 23, 1961 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musician, composer , author and radio host .

Sinor began training as a wholesaler with a focus on music production and sales at Ariola  Schallplatten GmbH in Vienna.

In 1979 he recorded his first own songs under the direction of Günter Grosslercher in the Schmettersound Studio of the Austrian folk-political rock band Butterflies . He was supported by the singer Kirstin Lill , with whom he was working in the PR department at Ariola at the time. In the same year he produced the first single of the rock formation Ferrum , which he discovered during the Austrian band competition Pop-o-drom , entitled Shoot Me (B-side:  Night of the Whores ), which was released in Austria, Germany and Switzerland was published on Atlanta 8105.

Since 1980 the autodidact has worked as a studio musician for drums, guitar, bass and vocals for numerous other bands and performers. His first production as a studio musician was the album Bassenaimpressionen   by Henk Freytag, which - produced by Andy Zahradnik - was released by CBS in 1980 and for which he is   listed in the credits as Helmut "Cassidy" "Sinor .

In 1983 he co-wrote and wrote the single Modern Times   (B-side:  Southern Lady  ) by Robert Slade on the Austrian label JOE-Records , which was distributed by Ariola.

From 1981 he worked as a program designer and presenter, initially for the private radio Radio val Canale in Tarvisio ( Italy ). He then switched to the Ö3 radio station of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation in 1985 . As a music editor he designed articles for Treffpunkt Ö3 and the Ö3 summer parade . He also acted as a presenter for both programs, with the Ö3 summer parade being mainly co-moderated with Marie Christine Giuliani . Among other things, he designed the signature for the program Das Ö3 Hitradio . He received his speaker training from Viktor Handlos (ORF 1985 to 1990), Werner Wawruschka (2011) and Ilse Maria Harzfeld (2013).

With the reorientation and restructuring of Ö3, Sinor left the station and largely withdrew from the creative scene. In 2006 Herbert Tucmandl brought him to his team at the Vienna Symphonic Library .
