Helmut von Bockelberg

Helmut von Vollard-Bockelberg (born October 20, 1911 in Deutsch-Wilmersdorf near Berlin, † March 29, 1996 in Staffelstein ) was a German officer , tax advisor and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1930, Bockelberg joined the Reichswehr as an officer candidate . He was made a lieutenant in September 1933 and served as a soldier in World War II from 1939 to 1945 , most recently with the rank of colonel . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner, from which he was released in 1947.

Then Bockelberg initially worked as an assistant in tax matters until he set up as an independent tax advisor in 1951. He had been President of the Chamber of Tax Advisors in Münster since 1961 and became Vice President of the Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors in 1967.

Political party

Bockelberg had been a member of the CDU since 1958. From 1960 to 1970 he was chairman of the CDU district association in Bielefeld.
