Hemne was a municipality in Trøndelag, Central Norway . As part of the local government reform in Norway , Hemne, the south-western part of Snillfjord and the municipality of Halsa from Fylke Møre og Romsdal were merged to form the new municipality of Heim on January 1, 2020 .

The municipality included the area around the Hemnfjord. The main town and administrative seat was Kyrksæterøra, other settlements were Vinje and Heim. 4,228 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​662 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The commune number was 5011.
