Halsa
Halsa was a municipality in the Norwegian province ( Fylke ) Møre og Romsdal . The administrative seat of the municipality was Liabø. As part of the municipal reform in Norway , Halsa and the municipality of Hemne, which belongs to Fylke Trøndelag , and the south-western part of Snillfjord , also in Trøndelag, merged into home on January 1, 2020 , so that the area of Halsa changed county .
Halsa became famous for the whale Keiko , who went there after his release.
Geography and traffic
1574 inhabitants lived on an area of 301 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The commune number was 1571.
Neighboring communes to Halsa were (clockwise) Aure , Hemne, Genealogie and Tingvoll .
The most important traffic connection was the European route 39 , which connects Halsa with Trondheim , as well as the ferry to Kanestraum in the municipality of Tingvoll . From there the E39 continues to Kristiansund .
Attractions
- Halsa Church was built in 1724.
- Norsk Geitbåtmuseum: The Geitbåt (“goat boat”) was a type of boat that was widespread in the Møre region until the 1930s. They are still being built and displayed in the Geitbåt Museum today.
