Snillfjord

Snillfjord was a commune (municipality) in the Central Norway Trøndelag . The administrative seat was the place Krokstadøra . As part of the local government reform in Norway , Snillfjord was split up on January 1, 2020: The largest part formed the new Orkland municipality with Agdenes , Meldal and Orkdal , the south-western part merged with Hemne and Halsa to form the new Heim municipality and the north-western part became Hitra .

It was about 75 km west of Trondheim and included the area around the fjords Snillfjord and Astfjord . Several small coastal settlements belonged to it. 999 inhabitants lived on an area of ​​508 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The municipality number was 5012.
