Hendrik Rupp

Hendrik Rupp (born October 29, 1970 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German journalist . From July 2008 to July 2018 he was editor-in-chief of the Heidenheimer Zeitung , and since December 2009 of the Heidenheimer Neue Presse . Until the title was discontinued at the end of November 2012, he was also responsible for the local section of the Brenztal-Bote in Giengen an der Brenz .

Life

Rupp grew up in Hürben . After graduating from the Margarete-Steiff-Gymnasium in Giengen, he studied history and English literature at the University of Stuttgart . From 1998 to 2000 he completed a traineeship at Heidenheimer Neue Presse and was then taken on as editor.

In 2002 Rupp received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Saarland . His dissertation deals with the crime novels of the British-American author Raymond Chandler . After moving to the Heidenheimer Zeitung, Rupp designed the merger of the two previously separate daily newspaper offices of the Heidenheimer Pressehaus.

Since 1992, Rupp has been publishing caricatures of local politics under the pseudonym “henne”, which appear in the Heidenheimer Neue Presse until 2007 and today in all Heidenheimer daily newspapers. In 2002 he was awarded a sponsorship prize at the German Prize for Political Caricature . In addition, Rupp contributed to several books on the local and regional history of the Swabian East Alb .
