German Prize for Political Caricature

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Prize for Political Caricature has been awarded to cartoonists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 1996. Initially, the Academy for Communication in Baden-Württemberg took over the award foundation. Since 2015 the new donor has been the private university for communication and design based in Stuttgart and Ulm.

The donors “want to continue promoting the art of caricature and the associated interest in political events with this award, also with regard to the changed information behavior of the readers through the online press. At the same time, they are calling for caricatures to be given a permanent place in the digital editions of the daily newspapers, ”says the claim. The total prize money amounts to 9,000 euros.
