Jan Tomaschoff

Jan Tomaschoff (born 1951 in Prague ) is a doctor, caricaturist and book author.

Life

Tomaschoff came to Germany in 1966 as a teenager. He graduated from the Düsseldorf Art Academy . Even back then, he was primarily interested in caricatures as an artist, but the academy did not support this. He later studied medicine and became a specialist in neurology , psychiatry and psychotherapy , with his own practice since 1985.

In addition, he published cartoons in Medical Tribune , Welt , Hannoverscher Allgemeine , Nebelspalter , Rheinischer Post , Spiegel , Süddeutscher Zeitung and Eulenspiegel (magazine) and wrote several books. He participated in group and solo exhibitions in Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Japan and Turkey.

In 2005 Tomaschoff received the Caricature Prize of German Newspapers awarded by the Federation of German Newspaper Publishers for one of his drawings , and in 2012 he won second place in the German Prize for Political Caricature .

Tomaschoff is an author on the Axis of the Good .
