Piero Masztalerz
Piero Masztalerz (born September 17, 1970 in Lübeck ) is a German comic artist .
Life
After breaking off his apprenticeship as a master printer, Piero Masztalerz worked, among other things, as a ladies' clothing seller, taxi driver and insurance agent. Today he works as a freelance cartoonist and videographer. Since 1991 he has worked as a comic artist, graphic artist and copywriter. His topics are sex, violence, religion and the perverse. He works for the satirical magazine Eulenspiegel , Lübecker Nachrichten , Spiegel and the youth magazine Bravo .
In 2003 Masztalerz founded the company Comic-Animationen Hamburg , which develops and produces comics and animated films for Internet and cross-media productions. For the Norddeutscher Rundfunk an online detective game created for example for the TV series The peppercorns or since September 2010 in the broadcast THAT! sent animated video clips of the radio comedy breakfast with Stefanie, which was awarded the German Radio Prize .
In 2008, 2010 and 2011 Masztalerz was nominated for the German Cartoon Prize, in 2011 he took first place. In 2012 he took 3rd place in the art prize of the Giordano Bruno Foundation Der cheeky Mario . In 2012 and 2014 he won the main prize at the German Prize for Political Caricature . With his live cartoon show, he won 3rd place in the Lüdenscheider Lüsterklemme in 2018 .
Piero Masztalerz has three children and lives in Hamburg .
