Beck (cartoonist)

Detlef Beck (artist name BECK ; * 1958 in Leipzig ) is a German cartoonist .

Life

Beck first studied architecture at the Weimar University of Architecture and Construction (today Bauhaus University Weimar ) and switched to the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art . Both studies remained without a degree. He worked for a year as an advertising designer at Konsum-Werbung Berlin; since 1987 he has been working as a freelance graphic artist, cartoonist and illustrator. Beck's cartoons appear and a. in Reader's Digest magazine , Gesundheit + Gesellschaft, Die Zeit , natur , Eulenspiegel , K-Tipp (Switzerland), taz , ver.di Publik , Espresso Verlag and incognito Berlin.

Beck has two children, is married and has lived in Leipzig again since 2003, after having lived and worked in Berlin for 20 years .
