Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Aylesford
Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Aylesford (* around 1649, † July 22, 1719 in Albury , England ) was an English politician and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster .
Life
After training at Oxford, he worked as a lawyer. With the encouragement of his father, Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Nottingham , he was appointed prosecutor in 1685. After disagreements with James II , he was removed from office in 1686. Nonetheless, he stood up for him in parliament when his dismissal was being negotiated. As a result, he took during the tenure of William III. no office.
In 1703 he was raised to Baron Guernsey and, after the coronation of George I in 1714, Earl of Aylesford . At the same time he was also Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. He held this office until February 1716. He died on July 22, 1719.

He married Elizabeth Banks, daughter of Sir John Banks, on May 16, 1678. They had five children with her:
