The Hengist Nunatak is an isolated and 610  m high nunatak with a flattened summit in the northeast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It rises 16 km north of Mount Calais above the Roberts Piedmont Glacier .

The first aerial photographs were taken in 1936 during the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys in 1948. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1955 after Hengist , legendary 5th century Anglo-Saxon leader and founder of the Kingdom of Kent .
