Henner Kotte

Henner Kotte (* 1963 in Wolgast ) is a German author, editor, presenter, director, theater critic and city guide. He is best known for his crime novels set in Leipzig .

Career

The classmate of the actor and cabaret artist Uwe Steimle , who grew up in Dresden , studied German in Leipzig, Dresden, Moscow and Stuttgart from 1984 to 1989 and then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for the German Language in Mannheim . After working as a lecturer for German as a foreign language at the Köthen University of Applied Sciences , Henner Kotte had to spend some time as an unemployed person and as an employee in Leipzig job creation schemes before he was able to complete further training in journalism in 1996.

His writing career began with the publication of the short story "Taxi" , for which he received the 1997 MDR Literature Prize.

Henner Kotte now works as a culture editor for the city magazine BLITZ. Since 2001 he has hosted his own literary talk show on crime and horror at the Moritzbastei in Leipzig - the "Black Series" . In addition, the author, who has lived in Leipzig since 1984, offers city tours on the criminal history of his adopted home.
