Henning Jensen (born January 5, 1943 in Store Heddinge , Denmark ) is a Danish actor and voice actor .

Life

After successfully studying drama at the University of Copenhagen , Henning Jensen originally wanted to study acting at Det Kongelige Teater . After their rejection, he finally successfully completed an acting course in 1968 at the Statens Teaterskole. He quickly found a job as an actor at Det Danske Teater and was a permanent member of the ensemble at Kongelige Teater from 1973 to 1978. During this time he played regularly in Danish feature films. Today he is known for his portrayals in Medea , The Candidate and What Nobody Knows , among others . For his portrayal of Mogens in Niels Gråbøl's drama Gaven , Jensen was nominated for Best Actor for the Danish Film Prize Bodil in 2009 .

Jensen was hired several times as a voice actor for commercials, documentaries and radio plays. He also lent his voice for the Danish versions of films such as Hugo, the jungle animal , Ratatouille and Hercules , as well as the French cartoon character Asterix .

Jensen was in a relationship with actresses Ulla Gottlieb and Anne Birch for a while. Jensen has been married to actress Solbjørg Højfeldt since 1985 .
