Henny Götze b. Schröder (born July 19, 1901 in Elberfeld , † December 29, 1997 in Leverkusen-Opladen ) was a German entrepreneur -wife and founder .

Life

Henny Götze was born as the daughter of the chess master Franz Schröder and his wife Henriette in Elberfeld and grew up there with three brothers and two sisters. The family moved from Elberfeld to Solingen , which remained home for most of the family. On November 21, 1925, Henny Schröder married the later entrepreneur Karl Götze in Elberfeld. At Henny’s side, Karl Götze founded Nord-West-Papierwerke in 1935 , for which he found the appropriate premises in Lindlar in the Bergisches Land. Lindlar thus became her new home.

In the late 1940s, Henny and Karl Götze became estranged and in 1950 the marriage ended in divorce. Karl Götze left her two guest houses in Bad Godesberg , in which she lived from then on. Until 1973, when Karl Götze died, Henny and Karl Götze and the management of the Nord-West-Papierwerke remained on friendly terms. Henny Götze lived alone in Bad Godesberg until old age. She later made the decision to move to a facility for assisted living in Opladen - voluntarily, as she always emphasized. There she began to get involved in social activities until she died in December 1997 at the age of 96.

Services

Henny Götze contributed her fortune of three million euros to the Henny Götze Foundation she founded. The purpose of the foundation is to help children and young people as well as charitable causes.
