Henri Arnoldus
Henri Arnoldus (born February 22, 1919 in Middelburg , † December 19, 2002 , ibid) was a Dutch teacher and children's book author, who became known for his children's book series Pitje Puck . Pitje Puck is the funny postman of a small village who slips into different professions in the stories and helps the villagers. The first book in the series was published in 1958.
Of the 47 Pitje Puck books that appeared in the Netherlands, 30 were translated into German and published by Weichert-Verlag.
In the Netherlands, the books by Pitje Puck , Detective Bollejan , Tupp and Jupp as well as Tim and Toni were published by NV Uitgevers Maatschappij "De Eekhoorn" in Harderwijk . The translation of these books was done by Helmut Goeb.
The illustrations for the German Pitje Puck books are by Peter Wrobel.
In the 1980s, some of the books in the Pitje Puck series were produced as radio plays by the Europa and Intercord labels .
Arnoldus was also active as a writer for film and television characters. He wrote various novels about Lassie , Rin Tin Tin and The Texas Rangers .
Henri Arnoldus died at the age of 83 and found his final resting place (No. 242) on the Algemene Begraafplaats Middelburg in Middelburg, capital of the province of Zeeland .
