Henri Hajdenberg

Henri Hajdenberg (born June 22, 1947 in Boulogne-Billancourt ) is a French lawyer . From 2000 to 2001 he was President of the European Jewish Congress .

Life

Hajdenberg was born in 1947 as the son of a merchant in a municipality in the Hauts-de-Seine department south-west of Paris . After attending the Lycée Turgot in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris , he studied law at the Panthéon-Assas University in Paris. In 1971 he was admitted to the bar.

In 1964 he founded the radio station Radio J for the Jewish community in Paris . In 1973 he was the founding president of the Jewish movement Le Renouveau juif . From 1995 to 2001 he was President of the Conseil Représentatif des Institutions Juives de France (CRIF). From 2000 to 2001 he chaired the European Jewish Congress .
